16th All India Moot Court Competition: Kerala Law Academy wins

ABOUT THE INSTITUTION

The Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram formed in 1875 is one of the oldest institution imparting legal education in India. Affiliated to the Faculty of Law of University of Kerala, the college is supervised and controlled by the Government of Kerala and was ranked as the 23rd best law college in India in 2007 by INDIA TODAY.The college conduct courses in LLM Degree of 2 years duration in 4 semesters with specialization in Constitutional Law & International Law. And LLB Degree course 3 years duration in 6 semesters and LLB Degree course 5 years duration in 10 semesters. 

ABOUT THE MOOT COURT COMPETITION

The Moot Court Society of Government Law College Thiruvananthapuram conducted the virtual All India Moot Court Competition from 10th to 12th of March 2022. The virtual event was inaugurated by the Honourable Minister of Law, Industries and Coir, Mr. P. Rajeeve, Government of Kerala. The event concluded with a valedictory session on 12th March 2022. The valedictory address, delivered by Honourable Mr. Justice Muhamed Mustaque was followed by the presidential address by Dr. R. Bijukumar, Principal, Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram. Other chief guests include High Court judges,Honourable Mr Justice Sunil Thomas and Honourable Mr. Justice P. G. Ajith Kumar. The vying for Justice V. R. Krishna Iyer trophy was won by Law Academy Law College,Thiruvananthapuram. Second place was won by Symbiosis Law School Hyderabad.  Hence keeping up with the rich heritage and prestige of the trophy.
