His Highness Maharajas Government Law College Ernakulam is exhilarated to announce that the Twenty First Edition of T S Venkateswara Ever Rolling Trophy National Moot Court Competition, 2023 will be held from 24th to 26th February, 2023. The National Moot Court Competition aims to encourage law students to discover and enhance their knowledge of law and advocacy.
ABOUT THE COLLEGE
His Highness The Maharajas Government Law College, Ernakulam is an institution for undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate legal education in Kochi, Kerala, India. Founded in 1874, it is the first law college in the state of Kerala and also one of the oldest law colleges in India. It is affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University in Kottayam. The college is a recognized Research Centre in Law under the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam since 2010. The college’s alumni include Honourable (Retired) Chief Justice of India KG Balakrishnan, Justice K. M. Joseph, Judge, Supreme Court of India and N. R. Madhava Menon, Indian civil servant, Lawyer and Legal educator.
ABOUT THE COMPETITION
The National Moot Court Competition aims to encourage law students to discover and improve their knowledge of law and advocacy. A Moot Court experience enables students to engage with and think deeply about interesting and topical legal issues. His Highness The Maharajas Government Law College, Ernakulam, which is the oldest and one of the most prestigious institutions of legal learning in the state of Kerala is a pioneer when it comes to moot court competition, having conducted the famous T.S Venkateswara Iyer Memorial Ever Rolling Trophy All India Moot Court Competition for twenty times in the past. This competition had a glorious past as we were privileged to have the finest talents from law schools across the country vying for honours. The college has also got a well established moot club where students are well trained. With this legacy in hand, we feel extremely happy to invite teams from all around the country to participate to the XXI National Moot Court Competition, 2023.
