26 Vacancies for the post of Assistant Professor in Law under Kerala Collegiate Education (Govt. Law Colleges)

Applications have been invited to the post of Assistant Professor of Law under the Department of Kerala Collegiate Education (Government Law Colleges). These applications have been invited only through a ‘One Time Registration’ under the Kerala Public Service Commission.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Age: 22-50 years (Only candidates born between 02.01.1974 and 01.01.2002 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. (GO(P) No.4/2023/HEDN dated 11.04.2023.) (Age relaxation as per general condition 2(i) is not applicable for this post)
  • Qualification:
    • LLM with least 55% marks
    • Experience at the Bar for a period of not less than 3 years
    • Must have passed a Comprehensive Test in the subject concerned specifically conducted for the purpose by UGC or any agency duly constituted by the state government in this behalf. When qualifications are equal, preference shall be given to those candidates who possess adequate knowledge in Malayalam.

FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Candidates who have acquired non-qualifying degrees viz Ph.D/M.Phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship will be awarded weightage marks provided that such non-qualifying degrees shall be in the subjects pertaining to the basic qualification stipulated for the post. Weightage marks for Non-qualifying degrees for ranking will be awarded as detailed below:
  1. Non-Qualifying M.Phil – 2 Marks
  2. Non – Qualifying Ph.D – 4 Marks
  3. Both M.Phil & Ph.D (Non-Qualifying) – 5 Marks
  4. Post Doctoral Fellowship – 2 Marks
  • Weightage marks will be awarded only to those non-qualifying degrees which are claimed in the application and which are required on or before the last date for receipt of applications.
  • Candidates who have obtained Ph.D Degree in the subject concerned are exempted from passing the NET examination. (G.O.(P)No.86/07/H.Edn dated 19.06.2007)
  • Experience certificate as Advocate issued by Bar council of Kerala or concerned Judicial officer shall be produced.
  • For SC, ST, OBC (Non Creamy Layer) & Differently Abled candidates, minimum 50% marks for Masters degree shall be sufficient. (G.O.(Ms). No.02/07/H.Edn. Dated 04/01/2007 & G.O(P) No.10/2018/H.Edn. Dated 13/04/2018)
  • For recruitment to various posts under these rules, Degrees awarded by the Universities recognized by UGC alone shall be considered.
  • KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) ii is applicable.
  • Candidates who claim equivalent qualification instead of qualification mentioned in the notification shall produce the relevant Government Order to prove the equivalency at the time of verification, then only such qualification shall be treated as equivalent to the prescribed qualification concerned.
  • Probation:- Every person appointed to the post shall from the date on which he joins duty be on probation for a period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.
