Webinar Session: Scope and development of alternate dispute resolution

Law and Justice Research Foundation Center for ADR in association with Kovise Foundation Conflict Resolution International, Chennai is conducting a webinar session on the topic – ” scope and development of alternate dispute resolution “. The program would be held on 12th December 2022 at 6 pm.

ABOUT THE INSTITUTIONS

LJRF is a society registered under the Travancore-Cochin Literary Scientific & Charitable Societies Registration Act XII of 1955. Law and Justice Research foundation aims to become a common platform for all the legal luminaries serving in society in their different capacities with an aim to secure Law and Justice within India. The aim of the members of LJRF is to become the torchbearers to spread legal literacy and awareness among common people and to provide legal aid to the needy in India.

LJRF Promotes basic constitutional literacy, establish and administer Institutions for promotion of legal education along with conduct of social audits to analyse the impact of laws on society. Law and Justice Research Foundation aims to help law students, lawyers, academicians and other sections of the society.

Kovise Foundation Conflict Resolution International (KFCRI) is a first of its kind institution providing in ADR Practice Accreditation in all aspects of ADR as well as maintains a functioning administrative centre to manage and empower a Dispute Resolution mechanisms used by clients worldwide.

KFCRI was established in the year 2016, under the aegis of KOVISE FOUNDATION to disseminate the required Research and Development of Conflict Resolutions thereby facilitating peace and economic balance with effective resolution of all categories of disputes in socio, economic and political arena worldwide administering Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Mechanism with Institutional Framework along with long term capacity building programmes seeding globally.

IMPORTANCE OF ADR

The concept of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanism is capable of providing a substitute to the conventional methods of resolving disputes. ADR offers to resolve all type of matters including civil, commercial, industrial and family etc., where people are not being able to start any type of negotiation and reach the settlement. Generally, ADR uses neutral third party who helps the parties to communicate, discuss the differences and resolve the dispute. It is a method which enables individuals and group to maintain co-operation, social order and provides opportunity to reduce hostility.

To deal with the situation of pendency of cases in courts of India, ADR plays a significant role in India by its diverse techniques. Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanism provides scientifically developed techniques to Indian judiciary which helps in reducing the burden on the courts. ADR provides various modes of settlement including, arbitration, conciliation, mediation, negotiation and lok Adalat.

ADR is also founded on such fundamental rights, article 14 and 21 which deals with equality before law and right to life and personal liberty respectively. ADR’s motive is to provide social-economic and political justice and maintain integrity in the society enshrined in the preamble. ADR also strive to achieve equal justice and free legal aid provided under article 39-A relating to Directive Principle of State Policy(DPSP).

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Shri. Ranjith Krishnan N, Sub Judge and Secretary, District Legal Service Authority, Ernakulam would inaugrate the webinar.

Welcome speech would be delivered by Kishor Kumar K, Convenor LJRF Center for ADR.

Dr. Sindhu Thulaseedaran, Associate Professor and Head Department of Law, University of Kerala would deliver the presidential address.

Mr. V. Inbavijayan. FICA FAIADR, PAP-KFCRI, FCIArb (UK) is the resource person for the webinar.

The program would be feliciatated by Dr. A. A. Kadeejabi, Assistant Prof. Govt. Law College Thrissur, Coordinator, Legal Aid Clinic and ADR Center.
