A sensitization program on the Probation of Offenders Act and The Nervazhi project was held on March 25, 2022, at the government guest house in Pathanamthitta.
The program was organized by the Social Justice Department and District Legal Services Authority in association with the District Probation Office, Pathanamthitta. The participants in the sensitization program were district judges, judicial officers and probation officers of Pathanamthitta district.
Shri. Jayakumar John S., Hon’ble Additional District & Sessions Judge-1, Pathanamthitta, and Chairman of the Taluk Legal Services Committee, Kozhemcherry, presided over this sensitization program. Shri.K.R. Madhukumar, Hon’ble District & Sessions Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Pathanamthitta, inaugurated the function.
Smt. Kavitha Gangadharan, Hon’ble Chief Judicial Magistrate, Pathanamthitta, and Shri. Eliyas Thomas, District Social Justice Officer, Pathanamthitta, delivered the felicitation. The first session was handled by Shri. S.H. Panchapakesan, State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, who delivered a lecture on the topic “Probation of Offenders Act, Aftercare and the modalities for Working Out Its Effective Implementation” and Shri. A.O. Abeen, District Social Justice Officer, Alappuzha, handled the second session and enlightened on the topic “Nervazhi Project & Other Schemes of the Social Justice Department”. Shri. Devan K. Menon, Hon’ble Sub Judge & Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Pathanamthitta, remarked welcome address and Hon’ble Munsiff Ms. Lakshmy S delivered a vote of thanks.
