About the institution

Government Law College Kozhikode, established in 1970, is a premier law college in Kerala, providing excellent education and knowledge in the field of law The institute has been evolving by continually responding to social changes, creating a legally centered atmosphere that promotes and protects justice, equality, dignity and human rights for all. Under the leadership of the principal several initiatives are being carried out to achieve this goal, ensuring that our students receive the best education and training to succeed in their legal careers. Various seminars, legal workshops, debates, quizzes, arbitration parliamentary discussions, judgment writing and other activities are organized regularly that helps, enriching students and society at large.

About The Moot Court Society

The Government Law College Kozhikode Moot Court and Experiential Learning Society (GLCKMCS) is the Moot Court Society of Government Law College Kozhikode. It encourages and develops mooting and other professional skills and qualities of the students of law. The students participate in various moot courts, mock trials, arbitration, and other professional simulation competitions at inter-class, inter-collegiate, State, National, and international levels. The Moot Court Society of GLCK has successfully hosted All India Moot Court Competitions and National Law Fests. The moot court society has also conducted other programs such as Trial Advocacy, Client Counselling competitions, Mediations and Quiz Programs.

About The Competition

We are pleased to announce the upcoming Adv. T.P Aravindakshan Memorial All India Moot Court Competition 2023 organized by the Government Law College, Kozhikode – Moot Court Society (GLCKMCS) in association with Students Union and CLCA (Calicut Law College Alumni Association). The moot court competition challenges participants to present arguments on a hypothetical case, allowing them to develop their critical thinking and analytical skills while engaging with a diverse audience of legal professionals, students, and academicians. This event is an excellent opportunity for law students to network, gain experience, and receive valuable feedback from experienced judges.

Eligibility

All students pursuing Unitary LLB programs or 5-year Integrated LLB program recognized by the Bar Council of India are eligible to participate in the moot court competition. Only one team shall be eligible to participate from a particular Law School.

Team Composition

The teams shall include a maximum of three and minimum of two members (2 speakers and 1 researcher or 1 speaker and 1 being speaker and researcher simultaneously.

Registration Procedure

Online registration for Adv. TP. Aravindakshan Memorial All India Court Competition will be open from 25th June. All teams must do the provisional registration by filling this form. Teams are expected to send a copy of their memorials by 22nd July. On the basis of memorial evaluation, 18 teams will be selected for the competition.

Registration Fee

The registration fee for the competition is INR 5000/- including accommodation and transport facility. Registration fee without accommodation and transport is INR 3000/-

The payment receipt along with a scanned copy of the college ID card Of the participants shall be sent to the mail ID with the subject of the email being All India Moot Court Competition 2023. The hard copy of the same is to be produced along with the hard copy of memorials. The last date for registration shall be 10th July.
