The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is a mandatory certification exam conducted by the Bar Council of India (BCI) to assess the eligibility of law graduates to practice law in India. The AIBE exam tests candidates on basic legal knowledge and skills necessary for professional legal practice. Passing the AIBE is required to obtain a Certificate of Practice (COP), which permits advocates to represent clients in Indian courts.

For 2025, the AIBE XX exam is scheduled for November 30, 2025. Registration opened on September 29, 2025, and closes on October 28, 2025. The exam format in 2025 includes an offline, pen-and-paper test consisting of 100 multiple-choice questions covering 19 law subjects. The exam duration is 3 hours and 30 minutes. Like previous years, candidates are allowed to carry only bare acts without any notes or commentaries. The passing marks have been set at 45% for General/OBC and 40% for SC/ST and disabled candidates.
