District Legal Services Authority ,Thiruvananthapuram in collaboration with the District Social Welfare Department and the District Probation Office, organized an awareness program on the Probation of Offenders Act for district judges, judicial officers and probation officers of Thiruvananthapuram district.The program was presided over by Smt.M. Shynimol,District Social Justice Officer and Sri.P.V. Balakrishnan the District Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, inaugurated the function.
Smt.R. Rekha, Chief Judicial Magistrate Thiruvananthapuram, delivered the felicitation.Subsequently, the first session was enlightened by Sri.K Sanil Kumar,Special Judge [SPE/CBI] Thiruvananthapuram,Chairman Taluk Legal Services Committee Thiruvananthapuram , on the topic “A bird’s eye view of Probation of Offenders Act 1958 vis-avis the Court”. Moreover, Sri.Elias Thomas,District Social Justice Officer, Pathanamthitta lectured on the topic ” Implementation of the Probation of Offenders Act 1958″.In addition to this, Sri. K. Vidyadharan, Secretary [Sub Judge],District Legal Services Authority ,Thiruvananthapuram remarked the welcome address and Sri.S.Gifton Raj, District Probation Officer,Thiruvananthapuram delivered the vote of thanks.
