The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act) which was enacted following the Vishaka Guidelines aims to prevent and protect women from sexual harassment in the workplace. The Act has been enacted with the objective of preventing and protecting women against sexual harassment at workplace and for the effective redressal of complaints of sexual harassment. The act emphasizes the importance of training and awareness campaigns to educate employees and thereby to prevent sexual harassment faced by women at workplaces. As India still records a high number of crime against women, regular discussions and sensitizations on this matter has become very important.
The Anti Sexual Harassment Cell, CAIL in association with Law and Justice Research Foundation, LJRF is organising an Awareness session on THE SEXUAL HARASSMENT OF WOMEN AT WORKPLACE (PREVENTION, PROHIBITION AND REDRESSAL) ACT, 2013 on 4th June 2024.

Christ Academy Institute of Law (CAIL) is one of the leading law institutions in India which is deeply committed in imparting quality legal education. The Anti Sexual Harassment Cell, CAIL functions to act mainly aims to create awareness and to make the workplaces safe for women. The cell also conducts regular awareness sessions for its faculty and staff to promote gender inclusivity and the need to create safe workplaces.
The LAW AND JUSTICE RESEARCH FOUNDATION (LJRF) is a society registered under the Travancore-Cochin Literary Scientific & Charitable Societies Registration Act and also an entity registered under NITI Aayog, Government of India. Its main objectives include promotion of basic Constitutional Literacy, establishing and administering Institutions for promotion of Legal Education along with Conduct of Social Audits to analyse the impact of Laws on Society. LJRF also conducts numerous lectures and awareness sessions on various topics of social- legal importance.
About the Event
To create a basic awareness about the importance of prevention of sexual harassment at workplace The Anti Sexual Harassment Cell, CAIL in association with Law and Justice Research Foundation, LJRF is organising an Awareness session on 4th June 2024 in Hybrid mode for all the Faculty and other staff members of CAIL. Dr Sindhu Thulaseedharan ma’am, Head, Department of Law, Kariavattom would be the chief guest of the event and would be handling the session on the POSH Act.
