Certificate and Instruments distribution for Differently-abled in Dharmadam Constituency under Kerala Social Security Mission

About the Programme

The State Commissionerate for Persons with Disabilities conducted a programme to distribute aiding instruments and certificates to differently-abled persons under The Kerala Social Security Mission in Dharmdam Constituency at Moonnuperiya, Taj Auditorium on March 21st 2022.
The Kerala Social Security Mission (KSSM), organized under Social Justice Department, aims to extend services and support to the destitute, poor, aged, children, women, chronically ill cancer patients and other weaker sections of the population. Kerala Social security mission identifies, undertakes and implements social security projects for the weaker sections.
A camp was conducted by the Commissionerate in Dharmadam Constituency to find the differently-abled persons in the constituency in need of aiding instruments and certificates on the 16th of March, 2022. On the basis of the report the program was organised to distribute aiding instruments and certificates to disabled persons who have not been availed of the same as of date.

The program was inaugurated by the Honourable Chief Minister of Kerala, Sri. Pinarayi Vijayan, and presided over by Smt. P.K.Prameela , President , Edakkad Block Panchayat. The certificates/UDID (Unique Disability Identification) Cards and the aiding instruments were distributed to the differently abled persons by Sri. Pinarayi Vijayan. The report of the study conducted in the constituency was presented by Smt. Dr. Chitra S., I.A.S., Executive Director of The Kerala Social Security Mission (KSSM).
The programme also saw the presence of various dignitaries including Dr. K. Narayana Naik (Additional DHS& DMO Kannur), Smt. Rajambika C.S. (Junior Superintendent, Kerala State Handicapped Persons Welfare Corporation Ltd), Sri. P. Balan (Chief minister’s representative in the constituency), and the Local Self Government administrators in the constituency of the Block Panchayat and the Gram Panchayats.

The certificates/UDIDs distributed to the beneficiaries will go a long way to enable them to come to the mainstream of the society by availing the benefits of the various social security programs implemented for supporting the Persons with Disabilities in the Country. The UDIDs will also help in stream-lining the tracking of physical and financial progress of beneficiary at all levels of hierarchy of implementation – from village level, block level, District level, State level and National level.
