Dr A. Suhruth Kumar, Associate Professor (Retd.) and Former Secretary of Kerala Gazetted Officers’ Association [KGOA], was a pioneering figure in the arena of Legal Studies in Kerala. With his inconceivable farsightedness and vision, Dr Suhruth Kumar spearheaded the emerging trends in the academic sphere. Having served as a teacher in the Government Law Colleges in Kerala, he left his indelible footprints as a noted Author, Orator, Poet and an eminent Legal Professional. His enlivening teachings and thoughts continue to inspire the law students as well as the academicians.
On the occasion of his Remembrance Day, a meet to commemorate his impeccable contributions to the upliftment of the marginalized, is organized by Dr A. Suhruth Kumar Library and Research Centre on 19 May 2024 . The venue for the ceremony shall be the Fourth Estate Hall of Press Club, Thiruvananthapuram.
The commemorative meet, which is scheduled to begin at 4.30 PM shall be presided over by Anavoor Nagappan, the Chairman of Dr A. Suhruth Kumar Library and Research Centre. Dr. S. R. Mohana Chandran, the General Secretary of Kerala Gazetted Officers’ Association shall deliver the Welcome Address. The commemorative speech and newsletter publication, will be done by Dr T M Thomas Issac, Former Finance Minister of Kerala.Lecture topic is “Local Intervention to Combat Climat Change”( കാലാവസ്ഥ വ്യതിയാനത്തെ പ്രതിരോധിക്കാനുള്ള പ്രാദേശിക ഇടപെടൽ).TN Seema (State Coordinator Navkerala Action Plan 2),Dr. R. Ajay Kumar Verma (Chairman, State Environment Appraisal Committee, Kerala) ,Dr. C. Bhaskaran (Retd.Professor, Kerala Agricultural University),Mr. B. Vijayan Nair (Secretary, Dr. A. Suhrithkumar Library and Research Centre) will add on their reflections to the topic.The Vote of Thanks shall be given by B. Vijayan Nair, the Secretary of Dr A. On the occasion of Dr. A Suhrithkumar’s Memorial Day, Suhrithkumar Library and Research Center in collaboration with Kerala Science and Technology Museum is organizing a project idea competition for students on activities that can be undertaken by local self-government bodies to combat climate change and a fellowship for project development of the selected ideas on 18 th May 2024 at Kerala Science and Technology Museum PMG Thiruvananthapuram.The programme will commence by 9.00 am and presided over by Dr. Jiju P Alex (State Planning Board Member).The welcome address will be given by Soju.S.S (Director, Kerala State Science and Technology Museum) Prof. C. Ravindranath (Former Education Minister) has consented to inaugurate the programme.After the Concept presentations Session and Certificate Distribution Aswathi. SR (Librarian, Dr. A. Suhritkumar Library and Research Centre) will deliver the vote of thanks.
