Government Law College, Thrissur to host the XIIIth All India National Moot Court Competition for Justice T. Ramachandran Memorial Ever Rolling Trophy, 2024

The XIIIth All India National Moot Court Competition for Justice T Ramachandran Memorial Ever Rolling Trophy is set to take place from 6th to 8th September, 2024 organized by Government Law College, Thrissur.

ABOUT THE INSTITUTION:

Government Law College, Thrissur, the youngest of the Law Colleges in the Government sector in Kerala was established in 1992. It has played a pivotal role in imparting legal education, carrying out legal research and been an active in aiding the society through various services such as the Legal Aid Clinic and ADR Centre, National Service Scheme (Unit No. 106) etc.. Replete with 37000 titles and over 20 journals including online journals, the college proudly boasts one of the best libraries in the State. Affiliated to the University of Calicut, the institution offers BBA.LLB (Hons), Three Year Unitary LLB and LLM courses.

The Moot Court Society of GLC, Thrissur has pioneered in achieving various feats and the noteworthy facet of the Moot Court Society is in its provision of financial support and training opportunities for the college’s mooters, thereby bolstering their capabilities and fostering their growth within the legal domain.

GUIDELINES FOR THE EVENT:

ELIGIBILITY:

The following rules are to be strictly complied with:

  • Open to all Law Colleges, Law schools and Law Departments recognized by Bar Council of India.
  • One Team per Institution. (In the event of multiple registrations from the same College/Law School/Law department, the team which submits a letter from the Head/Dean of the Institution/Moot Court Committee, authorizing them to participate on behalf of the College/Law School/Law department shall be eligible to register).
  • Each Team shall consist of either Two (2) or Three (3) members. In case of two (2) members, both the members shall be designated as speakers. In case of three (3) members, two (2) members shall be designated as speakers and one (1) member shall be designated as the researcher. (NOTE: If the team comprises of only speakers, the team will be ineligible to attend the researcher interview.)
  • No Additional Member or Faculty member shall be allowed to accompany the Team.
  • Travel expenses shall be borne by the Team.

REGISTRATION:

  • The Team should provisionally register through this link: https://glctmoot.wordpress.com/
  • During the provisional registration the participants are expected to pay the full fee.
  • After the provisional registration, there will be a memorial evaluation after which 20 teams will be selected for the competition.
  • Those teams which do not make it to the competition will be notified and the refund of the full amount will be issued. The participants are to note that, if there are any withdrawals from the competition at any stage, rather than getting eliminated after the memorial evaluation, they will not be issued any kind of refund.
  • Interested institutions shall intimate participation through email mcs.glct@gmail.com on or before 5th August, 2024.
  • The last date for the provisional registration along with the fee payment is 7th August, 2024.
  • The registration fee of the competition is ₹5000/-.The participating teams will have to register by paying a fee of ₹5000/- by way of bank transfer/NEFT. The transfer of registration amount should be complete at the time of registration so that details of the same are to be mentioned in the registration form.
  • A code number will be assigned to each team and that number alone shall be marked on the memorial and no indication shall be made for identifying the institution of the participants.

LANGUAGE:

The official language of the Competition shall be English. All competition rounds, memoranda and compendiums must be in English.

REWARDS AND HONOURS:

Participation certificates will be provided to all participants. Trophies, certificates and cash prizes worth more than Rs.50,000 will be awarded to the winners.
