In the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrated by the Union and State Governments to commemorate 75 years of India’s independence; the week commencing from 8th to 14th of November, 2021 is designated as the ‘Legal Services Week’. “A PAN India Legal Awareness and Outreach Campaign is being organized by National Legal Services Authority as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav from October 02, 2021 to November 14, 20201.As a part of the campaign Kerala High Court and District Legal Services Authority Thiruvanathapuram under the leadership of legal luminaries organized an inaugural session of the outreach programme on October second 2021 (Saturday).This auspicious programme inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sarasa Venkatannarayana Bhatti ,The judge of High Court of Kerala and the Portfolio Judge Thiruvanathapuram.
The Programmes are scheduled with special emphasis on mental health in the Panchayats, problems of differently abled children and adults, destitute women, children and aged with reference to housing, shelter, sanitation, medicine and food requirements.This programme intended to maintain social welfare and well-being of the citizen of India.
During the inaugural session Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sarasa Venkatannarayana Bhatti ,The judge of High Court of Kerala and the Portfolio Judge Thiruvanathapuram addressed the beneficial aspects of this programme.He said this program encompasses dissemination of knowledge ,Fundamental Duties of India ,help victims of crime ,early access to justice, laws relating to senior citizen and child rights.The Hon’ble judge preferred to restrict inaugural speech with special reference to Fundamental Duties of Citizen and Participatory Role of People. Moreover the Hon’ble judge reminds “we should concentrate on more welfare and more well-being for present and future generation and citizen of India”.
Hon’ble Mr.Justice Sarasa Venkatannarayana Bhatti says everyday everyone gets a dream but only one who remember about one’s own dream and work for it will succeed. In conclusion he reiterated “Constitution of my country is safe with this generation” and extended his appreciation for initiation and participation of law students and others.
