About the Internship
This one-week one internship aims at creating awareness about the Probation of Offenders Act (1958), Probation Policy and its services and schemes, and moulding future resource persons and social workers and active volunteers in Probation Reforms; including the development of research skills. The prisoners are an important stakeholder in the Criminal Justice System in India. The Department of Social Justice, Govt. of Kerala under its Social Defense wing and through the District probation Office provides a lot of services and schemes to the convicts, ex-convicts, probationers, victims, and their dependents. The Probation of Offenders Act is underutilized by the offenders and the system. The fact is the same with the schemes. This initiative aims at creating awareness about the Probation Policy, its services, and its schemes. The mode of internship will be online. For more details refer,
