Internship Opportunity – Social Justice Department

Internship opportunities are given to the students doing courses from various universities/colleges relating to social justice as part of their curriculum. Research students are also provided with internship for research purposes at such institutions. It is provided for students at district level offices like District Social Justice Office or District Probation Office or any other welfare institutions under the Social Justice Department and permission for such internships are given by the Director for Social Justice.

Applications are invited from students pursuing graduation in Social Work or Law from various universities/colleges as internships are mandatory as part of their course study and lots of applications are received every year.Applications are to be given to Directorate of Social Justice by the students along with the letter of recommendation from their head of the institutions.

Points to be noted as per the guidelines of social justice department:

  • For Research students ( M.Phil, Ph.D, Post Doctoral Fellowship) : Synopsis of their study, data collection tool, permission of the ethical committee, recommendation letter from the head of institution are to be provided along with the application and permission will be granted only at the directorate level.
  • Applications for internship at welfare institutions are to be given to the Director for Social Justice.
  • Applications for internship at district Social Justice office or district probation office are to be given to the heads of the above said offices concerned permission will be granted by officers themselves.
  • Internship period preferred to be mentioned is mandatory.
  • No financial aid will be given during internship period.
  • Materials collected during study should be kept secretly during research period and after that.
  • Personal information given for internship purpose of the beneficiaries of the schemes under Social Justice Department should not be disclosed or published at any cost.
  • Applications are to be given in a prescribed manner by the directorate.
  • A short report has to be submitted to the officer concerned of the department by the interns and can only be submitted to their respective institutes after the approval.
