LAWOJ 2022 : Inauguration of legal aid week celebrations

The Kerala Law Academy Legal Aid Clinic and Services in association with District Legal Services Authority, Trivandrum, KLA NSS, LJRF and IQAC KLA is organizing the LAWOJ 2022 from 20th -26th October 2022. The inaugurals of LAWOJ 2022 was conducted on 20th October 2022 at the Kerala Law Academy Law College Campus.

Sri K Vidyadharan, Sub Judge, Secretary, District Legal Service Authority, Trivandrum was the chief guest of the event along with Smt Shiny Mol, District Social Justice Officer Trivandrum. Sri K Vidyadharan delivered the inaugural address and also gave a very detailed insight on the provisions regarding the legal aid. Smt. Shiny Mol gave felicitation for the session.

The welcome address for the event was given by Prof. Hareendran K, the Principal of Kerala Law Academy. The Vote of thanks for the event was delivered by G S Gokul, Student Convenor of Kerala Law Academy Legal Aid Clinic.

Prof. Anil Kumar K , Director, Administration, Students and Faculty Welfare Kerala Law Academy, Prof. Anil Kumar G, Professor, Kerala Law Academy, Adv. Arya Sunil Paul, Faculty Coordinator, KLA Legal Aid Clinic and Service,  faculties and students of Kerala Law Academy Law College also attended the function.

ABOUT KERALA LAW ACADEMY

Established in 1966 Kerala Law Academy [KLA] is a seat of excellence in legal education, consultancy and research and in pioneering law reforms. The formal inauguration of KLA was done on 21 October 1967 by E M S Namboodiripad, the then Chief Minister of Kerala. The Academy’s prestigious institute, “the Kerala Law Academy Law College” is located in Trivandrum, the capital city of Kerala. ‘KLA Legal Aid Clinic and KLA Legal Services Centre’ is actively working to impart legal awareness to poor and illiterate people and to make students socially relevant and professionally competent legal professionals. It also offers legal and paralegal services by the faculty and the students. KLA was the first organisation in the state to take up legal aid on a massive scale. KLA’s acclaimed peer-reviewed/refereed research journal“Academy Law Review” is published continuously since 1977.
