National Legal Conclave on Rethinking Victim Rights by School of Legal Studies, CUSAT [ Feb 24 &Feb 25 2022]

The School of Legal Studies, one of the oldest Law Schools in India was initially started under the Kerala University in the year 1962 as the Post Graduate Department of Law and became part of the Cochin University in the year 1971 under the leadership and guidance of the late Prof. (Dr.) A.T.Markose, an internationally acclaimed jurist and academician.The pioneering effort of the Law School in encouraging Post Graduate studies and research in vital areas of social significance led to the introduction of LL.M courses in Administrative Law, Labour Law, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Human Rights Law,Environmental Law, Commercial Law, Intellectual Property Law, Maritime Law,Consumer Law and Corporate Governance and Securities Law. The most important features of LL.M. programme include Wednesday seminars, Legal Aid outreach programmes and student involvement in the publication of law journal.

About the Conclave

The School of Legal Studies is organizing a Virtual National Legal Conclave to provide a platform to encourage academic discussion and debate to unfold the various facets of victim rights, the gaps between the promises and the delivery and to explore the possible measures to enhance victim satisfaction.In the proposed Virtual Conclave various eminent personalities from the field of law,government administration, academia, NGOs, students etc. will engage in academic discussion on various themes related to Victim rights. The Conclave is envisaged to enlighten the academic and scholarly community on the various dimensions of victim rights law and policy in India.

❖ Rights of victims of sexual offences
❖ Efficacy of Victim compensation laws
❖ Rehabilitation of Victims of sexual offences
The above list is not exhaustive and the authors are free to choose a theme as far as it
comes within the ambit of the main theme.

Submission Guidelines
▪ All abstracts and full papers must be submitted electronically via email to
legalconclave2022.sls@gmail.com in the format given below
▪ The abstract should not be more than 350 words and must contain the following details such as the Title of the Paper, Name of the Author,University/Institution/ Organization, Email Address and Mobile number.
▪ The Main Text should be in Times New Roman with font size 12 and spacing of 1.5.
▪ All references must be in the form of footnotes. The footnotes should be in font size 10 with single spacing. The Authors should follow the CULR style of citation. (The same is attached with this document).
▪ All entries must be original and unpublished work of the Author(s) and should not have been submitted for publication/published elsewhere in any form. Any sort of plagiarism will not be entertained.
