CSI Institute of Legal Studies is inviting submissions for its first National Seminar on “Safety of Youth: Privacy Issues and Challenges in Social Media”.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

CSI Institute of Legal Studies, Cheruvarakonam, Parassala, established in 2013, is affiliated to the University of Kerala and approved by the Bar Council of India. It focuses on making the study of law accessible to ordinary students and beneficial to the larger humanity. The college offers undergraduate programs in BA LLB, B Com. LLB, BBA LLB (five-year integrated course), LLB Unitary (three-year course), and Postgraduate programme of two years LLM in Constitutional Law.

CSI Institute of Legal Studies, Cheruvarakonam, Parassala, in association with the IQAC, is organizing a one-day National Seminar on “Safety of Youth: Privacy Issues and Challenges in Social Media” on 11th March 2024. The venue of the seminar is CSI Institute of Legal Studies, Cheruvarakonam, Parassala.

CALL FOR PAPERS

The Organising Committee is calling for Research Articles from Law Students, Academicians, Lawyers, Social Workers, Policy Makers, Officials from various departments – Representatives from Institutions and Professionals; NGOs, Social Activists, Social Science Researchers, Faculty and Research Scholars.

ABOUT THE TOPIC

As the pervasive use of social media platforms continues to shape the daily lives of adolescents and concerns regarding privacy and safety have emerged as critical issues. This National Seminar delves into the multifaceted landscape of privacy challenges faced by young users in the realm of social media. It explores the evolving nature of privacy in the digital age and the unique vulnerabilities of youth to privacy breaches and exploitation.

GUIDELINES FOR PAPER SUBMISSIONS

  • The submission of papers must be in Times New Roman, Font Size: Heading-14, Text-12 in A4 format, with 1.5 line spacing, justified, not exceeding 3500 words including Title, details of the Author/s and Footnotes.
  • Authors are encouraged to use The Bluebook (20th ed.) citation format for footnoting and it should be in Times New Roman Font size 10.
  • An Abstract not exceeding 300 words shall be submitted for consideration.
  • The Abstract shall contain the brief idea of the Paper, with a minimum of 5 key words and a conclusion indicating the author’s perspective.
  • The Abstract must be accompanied by a cover page, stating the following: Title of the paper; Sub-Theme; Name of Author(s); Name of Institute/Organization; Official Designation; E-mail Address; Postal Address; Contact Number.
  • The Submission should be in WORD FORMAT. Abstract should be send to csiilscollege@gmail.com
  • All footnotes must adhere to the 20th edition of Bluebook standards and must be styled using the footnote option in word. Borders, underlines or other design objects must not be included in the paper.
  • All sub-headings must be left aligned or in bold.
  • The Papers shall be screened by a Committee. The Full Papers (3500 words) approved by the Committee shall be accepted for presentation in the Seminar. The intimation of selection will be made through E-mail.
  • The final paper should contain a cover page which includes Name, Designation, Relevant Discipline and Year of Study, Address, E-mail id, and Contact number. Authors have to give details in the Full Paper.
  • Abstracts and papers should be written in English, and the presentations shall be done in English.
  • Submissions should be made by the author who will attend the Seminar.
  • Co-Authorship is allowed but limited to one Co-Author only.
  • No part of the paper should have been published earlier nor should it be under consideration for publication. Any form of Plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification.

IMPORTANT DATES

  • Submission of Abstracts: 29th February 2024
  • Communication of Abstract Acceptance: 2nd March 2024
  • Submission of Full Paper and Payment of Registration Fee: 7th March 2024
  • National Seminar: 11th March 2024

MODE

The seminar is conducted in hybrid mode. The participants who are presenting the paper in online mode should ensure a proper internet connection.

PUBLICATION OPPORTUNITY

The selected articles received will be published in Proceedings with an ISBN. The publication charges should be paid by the author.

AWARDS

The best paper presenter and the best paper will be awarded with a cash prize and a certificate. All participants registered for the presentation and participation will be awarded certificates.

REGISTRATION FEES AND PAYMENT DETAILS

  • For Research Scholars and students – INR400 per author (An additional fee of INR 100 should be paid in the case of a maximum of one Co-Author).
  • For Academicians and Professionals – INR 600 per author (An additional fee of INR 100 should be paid in the case of a maximum of one Co-Author).
