About the Indian Centre for Child and Human Rights (ICCHR)

Indian Centre for Child and Human Rights (ICCHR) is an initiative by the Truth & Youth and Umeed NGO at its inception in 2021, aimed at promoting research and facilitating students and researchers with a proper understanding of Child and Human rights.The Centre is a national research centre under the supervision of UNICEF India and provides integrated technical support to legal institutions of governance at the local, state, and national levels for the protection of child and human rights through knowledge, research, and resources.

About the Internship

The PAN India Internship Program of ICCHR provides the students with an excellent opportunity to learn and work in the field of child and human rights from a multidisciplinary perspective. It helps the students in enhancing their skills, knowledge, and research capabilities, and also provides them with an opportunity to contribute towards the protection of child and human rights.

Eligibility

  1. For the Legal Research Internship and Legal Writer Internship, only law students pursuing a 5-year B.A. LL.B./B.Com. LL.B./B.B.A. LL.B./B.Sc. LL.B. or 3-year LL.B. program under any BCI-approved University or College are eligible to apply.
  2. The candidate must have a strong interest in Child and Human rights and a commitment to social justice.
  3. The candidate should have excellent research and writing skills.
  4. The candidate must be proficient in English and possess good communication skills.
  5. The candidate must be available for the duration of the internship program as per their choice, either one or two months.
  6. The candidate must be able to work independently and as a team member under the supervision of the Internship Coordinators.
  7. The candidate must demonstrate a willingness to learn and contribute towards the protection of children and Human Rights.

Responsibilities

  1. Conduct legal research and analysis related to child and human rights.
  2. Researching on the latest Supreme Court and High Court cases with relevance to Child and Human Rights.
  3. Prepare reports, memos, and other documents related to legal research and analysis.
  4. Conduct literature reviews and prepare summaries of relevant academic articles and reports.
  5. Writing articles, blogs, and research papers, and preparing reports on the findings of the topic.
  6. Participate in meetings and discussions related to ongoing projects and research activities.
  7. Attend training sessions, online workshops, and webinars to enhance legal research and writing skills.
  8. Participate in outreach activities and events organized by ICCHR.
  9. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
