Project Complete Lawyer has initiated career orientation lecture series to enlighten the future of budding lawyers. On 9th October 2021 Justice A. Muhamed Mustaque Judge, High Court of Kerala will be lecturing on the topic “Future of Legal Profession Prospects and Challenges” with Project Complete Lawyer.
Project Complete Lawyer is a propitious program jointly organized by Cochin Institute of International Arbitration (CIIArb) and Law and Justice Research Foundation (LJRF) as a tribute to Late (Prof) Dr N R Madhava Menon.
In furtherance of the objective of LJRF and CIIArb to protect and promote the integrity and majesty of legal profession has formulated a structured ‘protocol’ for the Project Complete Lawyer. . As advocate Johnson Gomez the Chairman of Project Complete Lawyer mentioned “The long incubation period, when compared to other professions, seems to be an important hurdle in attracting law students to the legal profession. The present curriculum offered to law students, in fact creates a huge gap for them in their transformation as a professional lawyer”.
Project Complete Lawyer is a programme aimed at reducing the incubation period of a law student in his or her transformation as a successful lawyer ideally within two years after completion of their LLB degree.The two major components of Project Complete Lawyer are 1) clinical training on the various skill of legal practice and a study of the legal institutions; and (2) engaging the participants in ‘Community Lawyering’. It is worth mentioning here that Prof Menon during his life time wished to implement Community Lawyering, as a tool for social development of the scheduled tribes in Wayanad District in Kerala States.The draft concepts for Project Complete Lawyer were initiated on 20th July 2021. The first batch budding lawyers who are the part of the Project Complete Lawyer begun their first assignment on 15th August 2021.
