ABOUT THE INSTITUTIONS

Government Law College, Kozhikode, one among the four Government Law Colleges in Kerala is owned by the Government of Kerala and affiliated to the University of Calicut. In 1970, the third Government Law College in the state was set up by the Government of Kerala in the city of Kozhikode, thus becoming the first law college for the northern part of Kerala State. Over the past 50 years, the college has bolstered its reputation of producing extraordinary lawyers, judges, academicians, CEOs, civil servants, and politicians

The Law and Justice Research Foundation (LJRF) is a society registered under the Travancore-Cochin Literary Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act and also an entity registered under NITI Aayog, Government of India. The Ultimate aim of the team LJRF is to promote basic Constitutional Literacy, establish and administer institutions for promotion of Legal Education along with conduct of Social Audits to analyse the impact of Law on Society.

ABOUT THE TEACHERS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

UGC GET NET Teachers Development Programme (TDP) was started in March 2021 as a seven months course for UGC NET, JRF and Assistant Professor aspirants by the Law and Justice Research Foundation in association with Lawexams.co.in. Through this platform weekly classes are conducted for the students along with practical sessions in Online Learning Management System (LMS). https://lms.ljrf.in/

ABOUT THE SESSION

The third session on Teaching as a Career Option in Law on the topic Law Teaching- Opportunities and Challenges organised by LJRF Teachers Development Programme in association with Government Law College, Kozhikode is scheduled to be conducted on 6th November 2022, Sunday at 10 am. Cicy Joseph, Assistant Professor of Government Law College, Kozhikode is delivering the welcome address.The presidential address for the session shall be delivered by Dr. N Krishnakumar, the Principal of Government Law College, Kozhikode. Dr. N S Santhosh Kumar, the Vice Chancellor of Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Tamilnadu has consented to be the Chief Guest of the programme. Dr. N Kayalvizhi, the Principal of Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, Chennai is the keynote speaker of the session. Felicitation for the session shall be given by Adv. Thejus Purushothaman, the President of LJRF State Chapter. Ms. Jomol J, the Coordinator of LJRF Teachers Development Programme will deliver the vote of thanks.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Dr. N S SANTHOSH KUMAR

Prof [Dr] N S Santhoshkumar, a reputed academician as well as an administrator is the Vice Chancellor of Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai. After acquiring his post-graduation in Commerce, Public Administration and Law, he had pursued his Ph.D in Law in the area of ‘International Acceptance of Alternative Dispute Resolution with special reference to India’ and he suggested for Constitutional Amendments for making it compulsory before opting for judicial remedies. He has written many articles in prestigious journals including All India Reporter, Madras Law Journal, Labour Law Journal and participated in many National and International conferences and acted as a Chair Person, Resource Person besides presenting many papers. As a reward for his hard work, Hon’ble Chancellor has appointed him as Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University from 9th April 2021.

Dr N KAYALVIZHI

Prof [Dr] N Kayalvizhi is the Principal of Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Tamilnadu. Earlier, she served as the Senate Member and the Syndicate Member of the Tamilnadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai. She has also been the Associate Editor of SSLC Law Review and Member & Secretary of Tamilnadu Legal Education Review Committee.

Dr N KRISHNAKUMAR

Dr N Krishnakumar is the Principal of Government Law College Kozhikode. Having practiced as an advocate in the High Court of Kerala, he has expertise in the fields like Criminal Judicial Training, Court Procedure, RTI & RTS, Human Rights, Environment, Research Methodology, Personality Development. Many research projects of UGC undertaken by him were successfully completed.
