Alternative dispute redressal centre (ADR centre) , court complex, Thiruvananthapuram is turning to be an alternative centre for law interns for learning about alternative dispute redressal mechanisms. The Iaw interns not only from law colleges of Thiruvananthapuram district, but also across the state of Kerala and out side Kerala are visiting the centre daily . They are observing mediations, weekly adalaths and national adalaths conducted in the centre . Apart from that they used to visit legal aid clinics set up at Jails, mental health hospital , civil station etc. Trained mediators are present here for clearing their doubts. There are weekly sessions of interactions with Sri K.Vidyadharan ,Secretary DLSA and Sub Judge, on Legal Services Act and Mediation laws. On special occasions, other Judicial offices also participate in these sessions. The senior mediator trainer Adv. Bhuvanendran Nair and senior advocates also participate in the academic sessions.
Thiruvananthapuram ADR Centre which is always maintaining highest statistics in settling dispute in lok adalaths and court based mediations in the state ,also indirectly becomes a centre for legal education, by way of providing practical experience to the younger generation.
