ABOUT PROJECT COMPLETE LAWYER

The complete lawyer is a project that intends to reduce the period of incubation to less than 2 years from graduation.The expectation is to enable the fresh graduate to venture into the profession with confidence and to become independent practitioners within this period. This project is developed by Cochin Institute of International Arbitration and Law and Justice Research Foundation, drawing inspiration from the teaching of Prof. Dr N R Madhava Menon

The project works on the fundamental understanding that all the institutions created under law, operate on the principle of ‘Rule of Law’.. The higher judiciary, including the Supreme Court and the various High Courts, are governed by provisions of the Constitution, statutes and various rules formulated under them. Similar is the case of courts under the District Judiciary and the Tribunals established under various laws. The project believes that a study of the jurisdiction of the institutions, including the practice and procedure followed by them, would help the students venture into the law practice with confidence.

ABOUT THE WEBINAR

Project Complete Lawyer is organizing an informative session on the topic ”Decoding The Law Behind Banking And Finance Sector”. The resource persons for the session are Mr.Abir Lal Dey, Partner at Saraf and Partners Law Offices Mumbai and Mr. Aroop Das, Senior Associate at Saraf and Partners Law Offices Mumbai. The session aims to broaden the horizon of the understanding of laws concerning banking & finance sector and also provides an opportunity for the participants to interact with eminent experts in the field. Abir has rich experience in banking, projects & infrastructure, project financing, structured financing, insolvency and debt restructuring across various sectors including Solar, Wind, Road, Thermal, Oil & Gas, Transmission, Real Estate, Ports, Hydro, Warehousing, Aviation, Automobile. Abir is involved in advisory work related to various infrastructure sectors, including energy, transportation and mining. Abir is also actively advising on Startup and Fintech. He is also a Guest Faculty Member at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Banking and Finance (JNIBF) at Hyderabad and conducted various sessions at law schools across the country. Abir is also part of the Editorial Panel of Company Ninja an online resource initiative by Jus Dicere dedicated to academic content related to Company Law

Aroop Das, Senior Associate at Saraf and Partners Law Offices Mumbai

Aroop is a banking and finance lawyer with almost five years’ work experience in top tier Indian law firms. He has extensive experience in working on financing documents. He has also worked on external commercial borrowing transactions, restructuring mandates and general advisory to banks and financial institutions including undertaking diligence exercises and drafting of projects and infrastructure agreements/documents for the borrower. He also has experience in restructuring transactions and has also been involved in insolvency mandates and has negotiated and finalized equity instruments, brand licensing agreements etc.
