A one-day workshop on the Probation of Offenders Act, 1958, the Nervazhi Project and various other schemes related to probation was conducted by the Social Justice Department in association with the District Probation Office, Alapuzha, and the District Legal Service Authority, Alapuzha. The workshop provided training to the Judicial Officers and Probation Officers of Alapuzha district.
The program which was inaugurated by Smt. KK Sujatha, District Judge and Chairperson of District Legal Service Authority, Alapuzha was presided by AO Abin, Social Justice Officer, Alapuzha District. Shri KM Ratheesh Kumar, Hon’ble Chief Judicial Magistrate of Alapuzha delivered the keynote address.
The program was felicitated by Smt. Seetha, Additional District Judge III, Alapuzha.
Dr. CS Mohit, Additional District Judge, Mavelikkara conducted the first session on Probation of Offenders Act, 1958 and Justice VR Krishna Iyer’s perspective on probation.
This was followed by the talk on Nervazhi Project, by Shri. AO Abin, Social Justice Officer, Alapuzha. He also lectured on the system of probation and various self-employment schemes that the Social Justice Department has introduced
