Young Talents LJRF 2023 – Asiya Rahman

Law and Justice Research foundation aims to become a common platform for all the legal luminaries serving in the society in their different capacities with an aim to secure Law and Justice within India. The Object of the members of LJRF is to become the torchbearers to spread legal literacy and awareness among common people and to provide legal aid to the needy in India.

Ms.Asiya Rahman Puthuppurackal is in her sophomore year, pursuing BA LL. B at Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram. She joined the LJRF Team in April 2023 after clearing a selection process. She continues to serve as an Editor Trainee at LJRF VOICE. She is an aspiring, budding writer, who loves to wield the pen and indite inspiring, thought-provoking short stories, essays and articles. Women Empowerment, Social Justice, Philosophy of Life, Fraternity etc. are often the themes that revolve around her pieces. A regular participant of Essay and Article Writing Competitions, her inner satisfaction lies in being able to move minds, evoke empathy and prompt people to ask questions with her words as she writes. She has always pursued to mirror the real-world problems of other people, in the simplest yet poignant ways possible.

She regularly writes for Chota Story (https://www.chotastory.com/), a Calcutta-based online platform curated for writers worldwide, emphasizing ‘Micro-tales’ and publishing 100-words stories from diverse genres, with the motto: ‘Tiny Reads, Huge Impact’. This year, she has officially turned an author, with 8 of her stories until December 2022, published in Chota Story’s first anthology: ‘Ripples that Last’, a collection of 100-words stories capturing the deep intricacies of human life in various instances, open for sale on Amazon and Flipkart, to read.

Asiya serves as Member, Centre for Constitutional Literacy as well as the Media Team of the Centre of Probation Reforms at LJRF. She also served as a Coordinator of the 7-Days Internship on Legal Journalism conducted by LJRF VOICE from 5th November – 18th November, 2023.
