Rural Legal Aid by the Taluk Legal Services Authority, Neyyattinkara, Malainkeezh Grama Panchayat, and the Legal Aid Clinic, Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram

On December 7, 2024, a Rural Lok Adalat was organized at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Malainkeezh. This initiative was a collaborative effort between the Taluk Legal Services Authority, Neyyattinkara, Malainkeezh Grama Panchayat, and the Legal Aid Clinic, Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram.

The event aimed to provide a platform for resolving legal disputes and public service-related complaints, particularly those pertaining to the panchayat, through mutual agreement. It was also a part of the National Lok Adalat scheduled for the same day.

This event was organized in collaboration with Hon’ble MLA IB Sathish’s “Oppam” project and was part of the National Lok Adalat scheduled for December 7, 2024.

The event was inaugurated by Mrs. Kavita Gangadharan, District & Sessions Judge and Judge of the Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal, Thiruvananthapuram. Several dignitaries graced the occasion with their presence, including Ms. A. Valsalakumari, President of Malainkeezh Grama Panchayat, Hon’ble MLA IB Sathish, Dr. Bindu Mol VC, Principal in Charge of Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram, and various other officials and dignitaries.

Legal aid camps were conducted in the wards of Malainkeezh Grama Panchayat on December 1 and 2, 2024. The complaints received during these camps were addressed and resolved through the Rural Lok Adalat.The event was coordinated by Dr. Hameema M, Deepthi Soman, and Sheeja Beegam, Conveners of the Legal Aid Clinic, Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram.
