Young Talent 2025 : Anjali Gurunath Naik

Anjali Gurunath Naik is an emerging lawyer based in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, currently practising at CRS Chambers, Vanchiyoor. A graduate of the five-year integrated BA LL.B programme at Kerala Law Academy Law College, Thiruvananthapuram, she has developed a focused interest in Intellectual Property Law, Data Privacy Law, and Technology Law — areas that continue to shape the future of legal practice in an increasingly digital world.

Her academic journey began at St. Thomas Central School, Thiruvananthapuram and Sree Vivekananda Memorial Public School, Trivandrum, before she pursued legal education at one of Kerala’s respected law institutions. Throughout law school, she consistently engaged in advocacy, legal writing, research, and institutional activities that strengthened both her academic and practical understanding of law.

Practice & Professional Experience

Anjali currently practises at CRS Chambers, Vanchiyoor, where she continues to gain experience in litigation, legal drafting, research, and procedural practice.

Her professional exposure spans litigation chambers, corporate legal environments, regulatory bodies, and legal aid institutions. She interned at the District Court, Ernakulam under CJM Renjith and trained at Sreekumar Associates and Puthran & Associates. Her internship at IBS Software Private Limited, Trivandrum introduced her to corporate legal operations and technology-oriented legal practice.

She also interned at the Kerala Legal Service Authority, Kochi, the District Legal Service Authority, Thiruvananthapuram, and the Noida Legal Services Trust (NLST), where she gained insight into legal aid systems and access to justice initiatives. Additionally, her internship at the Kerala State Pollution Control Board, Plamoodu provided exposure to environmental regulatory mechanisms and administrative law processes.

 Areas of Interest & Specialisation

Data Privacy & Technology Law

Anjali has cultivated a strong academic and professional interest in Data Privacy and Technology Law. She holds a GDPR Certification (2024) and has written extensively on India’s evolving digital governance framework, including the implications of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Her research and writing reflect a particular interest in privacy rights, AI governance, digital compliance, and the intersection of constitutional principles with emerging technologies.

Intellectual Property Law

She has also pursued focused training in Intellectual Property Law and obtained certification in IPR through E-Justice India. Her interest in intellectual property complements her broader engagement with innovation, technology, and regulatory law.

Beyond academics and litigation exposure, Anjali has contributed actively to student-led legal initiatives and academic events.

She served as a Member of the Moot Court Society at Kerala Law Academy from 2020–2024 and was the Student Convenor for the 4th National ADR (Virtual) Competition 2023. She also hosted Client Consulting Competitions and National ADR Competitions conducted by the institution.

Additionally, she volunteered at the International Conference on Emerging Significance of Maritime Law conducted by CALSAR and worked as a Legal Journalism Intern at LJRF Voice.

Anjali Gurunath Naik also serves as the Academic Coordinator at the LJRF Centre for Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), where she contributes to academic initiatives, legal research activities, and discussions surrounding innovation, intellectual property, and emerging technology laws. Through this role, she actively engages in promoting awareness and academic dialogue on contemporary IPR developments among students and young legal professionals.
