About the Organizer

Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai, established under the Maharashtra National Law University Act 2014 on 20th March 2014, is one of the premier National Law Universities in India. Located in the pristine Powai region of Mumbai, the University enjoys an un-paralleled avenue for higher studies especially in law and related matters. The course structures of the University are framed in accordance with the norms of the BCI and UGC with a team of dedicated and committed teachers.

About the Competition

The 1st CCI–MNLUCS National Moot Court Competition 2025 is a premier legal event aimed at nurturing budding legal minds in the field of competition law. Designed to replicate real-world litigation experience, the competition promises intellectually stimulating rounds, expert interactions, and a rewarding learning environment.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Hone their legal research and oral advocacy skills
  • Engage with complex legal issues under competition law
  • Network with peers and legal professionals
  • Win exciting prizes worth over ₹1,00,000

Eligibility

  • Open to students currently enrolled in 3-year or 5-year undergraduate law programs.
  • A maximum of two teams per institution is permitted.
  • Only undergraduate law students are eligible to participate

Important Dates

  • 9 July 2025: Release of Proposition & Commencement of Registration
  • 31 July 2025: Last Date to Submit Clarification Requests
  • 8 August 2025: Release of Clarifications
  • 15 August 2025: Registration Closes
  • 31 August 2025: Deadline for Soft Copy of Memorials
  • 4 September 2025: Mandatory SCC Online Training (1-hour session)
  • 5 September 2025: Inaugural Ceremony
  • 6 September 2025: Preliminary Rounds I & II
  • 7 September 2025: Quarter-Final Rounds
  • 20 September 2025: Deadline for Hard Copy Submission of Memorials
  • 28 September 2025: Semi-Finals, Finals & Valedictory Ceremony

Prizes

Winner: A Trophy, a cash prize of ₹40,000/-, & 1-
year complimentary subscriptions to SCC Online
Web Edition worth ₹24,000/- to each member of the
winning team.
Runner-up: A Trophy and a cash prize of ₹20,000/-.
Best Speaker: A Trophy and a cash prize of
₹10,000/-.
Best Memorial (Petitioner): A Trophy and a cash
prize of ₹10,000/-.
Best Memorial (Respondent): A Trophy and a cash
prize of ₹10,000/-.
One month access to the SCC Online Web Edition to
all participants valued at Rs. 1099 each.
All participating teams will be provided with a
certificate of participation or a certificate of merit
in accordance with the performance of the team.

Team Composition

Each team must consist of 2 or 3 members:

  • Two Speakers
  • One Researcher
  • In two-member teams, both participants will argue as speakers, with one also assuming the researcher’s role.
  • The composition must be confirmed at the time of registration and may only be changed with the Organising Committee’s approval in exceptional circumstances.

Registration Process

The competition follows a two-stage registration model:

Stage I – Preliminary Registration

  • Fee: ₹4,500 per team
  • Covers participation in the virtual preliminary rounds

Stage II – Final Rounds

  • Teams qualifying for the offline Semi-Final & Final rounds must pay an additional ₹3,000

Steps to Register:

  1. Make the payment using the link provided below this announcement.
  2. Upload the screenshot of the transaction in the Google Registration Form.
  3. Upon verification, a confirmation email will be sent to the team’s registered contact.
  4. Teams are required to designate a primary contact person in the form, who will be the official point of communication.
  5. Each registered team will be allotted a unique team code, to be used for all memorials and oral rounds.
