LJRF Holds Annual Meeting; New State Chapter Leadership Announced For 2025–26

The strength of the legal fraternity lies not merely in advocacy, but in collective commitment to justice, research, and social responsibility.

The Law and Justice Research Foundation (LJRF) held its Annual Meeting on a solemn yet purposeful note, bringing together members of the legal fraternity, academicians, and public officials to deliberate on the Foundation’s vision and future course. The event commenced with a one-minute silent prayer in memory of late Adv. Thejus Purushothaman, a beloved member of the Foundation, paying homage to his contribution to the legal community.

The meeting formally began with a warm welcome address by Mr. Jino M. Kurien, Member of LJRF, who extended greetings to the dignitaries on and off the dais and to all attendees. This was followed by the Presidential Address by Dr. Saroja A.S., Academic Advisor of the LJRF State Chapter, who emphasized the role of legal research and institutional engagement in strengthening access to justice.

A brief introduction to the objectives and activities of LJRF was delivered by Prof. Safi Mohan, highlighting the Foundation’s commitment to legal scholarship and social justice initiatives.

The programme featured a series of special addresses by eminent personalities, including Adv. Johnson Gomez, Founder and President of the Project Complete Lawyer Foundation, who spoke on professional development within the legal profession; Mr. Abin A.O., Assistant Director, Social Justice Department, who underlined the importance of collaborative efforts between legal institutions and social justice mechanisms; and Prof. Dr. Lawwellman, Associate Professor, Government Law College, Kozhikode, who reflected on the evolving role of legal academia in policy and reform.

The most anticipated segment of the evening was the declaration of the State Chapter Leadership Selection Process, formally announced by Dr. Saroja A.S., marking a significant milestone for the Foundation’s organizational growth.

Subsequently, the newly elected President and Secretary of the LJRF State Chapter addressed the gathering, expressing gratitude for the trust reposed in them and reaffirming their commitment to advancing LJRF’s mission.
