INDIA FORMALLY ESTABLISHES NATIONAL MEDIATION COUNCIL IN DELHI

This official government notification was published by the Ministry of Law and Justice in The Gazette of India on August 27, 2026, this notification formally sets up the Mediation Council of India, headquartered in Delhi, under section 31(1) of the Mediation Act, 2023. This step supports mediation—a voluntary, confidential way to settle disputes where a neutral third party guides opposing sides to reach mutually agreeable solutions without going through long court trials. By organizing and promoting these practices nationwide, the new Council aims to make resolving civil, family, and commercial conflicts faster, cheaper, and far less formal across India.
