About the organization
Kerala Institute Of Labour And Employment (KILE) is an autonomous body constituted by the Government of Kerala for the purpose of training, research, and publications in labour and allied subjects. The Institute started functioning on 04.02.1978 as a registered society under the Travancore Cochin Literary, Scientific, and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955. The economic reforms coming up in the present scenario are bringing far-reaching changes in the industrial and economic system and consequently the Kerala labour has to face many new challenges arising from these reforms. In order to cultivate a new work culture among the three partners of industrial relations – the Government, workers and the management, to help labours to cope up with the changes and reforms, and to maintain a cordial industrial relations climate in the State, KILE has been organising training programmes, seminars, workshops etc., and undertakes research programmes. It’s primary objective is to provide education, training and research in labour, employment and related subjects, with particular reference to Kerala.
Vision: Advance social justice and equity; promote harmony among social partners; contribute to the prosperity of the State and enhance the quality of life.
Mission: The mission of the institute is to identify nurture promote and propagate the best practices in work, in labour relations and in Management through training, research and dynamic interaction among social partners.
About the Workshop
Educational and training programmes aim to create a beneficial industrial environment in the State. It aims to improve the skills and knowledge of the workforce, increase productivity and efficiency, and promote cooperation and collaboration between different parties. The workshop aims to develop young researchers’ and practitioners’ capacity to undertake various research studies. The workshop module includes theoretical foundations for empirical research, Quantitative methods in social research and feminist methodology in social science.
