The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is inviting applications for its Internship Programme 2026 for the October–December intake. The internship provides students with an opportunity to gain practical exposure to food regulation, food safety administration and related legal and policy areas.
About FSSAI
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is a statutory authority established under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.
FSSAI is responsible for laying down standards for food articles and regulating and supervising food safety in India.
About the Internship
The FSSAI Internship Scheme aims to provide students with learning and practical exposure in the field of food regulation and food safety administration through industry–academia interaction.
Law students may gain exposure to areas involving food regulation, policy, compliance and legal aspects of food safety administration.
Eligibility
Students pursuing a full-time Graduate/Postgraduate/Higher Degree from a recognised institution in India or abroad in relevant disciplines, including:
- Bachelor/Master of Law
- Policy Regulation
- Finance & Taxation Law
- Public Policy
- Public Administration
- Business Administration & Management
- Economics
- Statistics
- Information & Communication Technology
- Other related disciplines
Duration
2–6 months
The internship will be offered for a minimum period of 2 months, which may be extended up to a maximum of 6 months.
Stipend
Selected interns will receive a stipend of ₹10,000/- for the entire internship period, subject to the applicable conditions and recommendation of the concerned FSSAI office/division.

Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates may be required to submit a short write-up/presentation as part of the final selection process.
The final list of selected candidates, along with their date of joining and internship tenure, will be declared by the concerned FSSAI office.
