ABOUT THE ORGANIZER :
Government Law College, Kozhikode, established in 1970, is one of Kerala’s leading law colleges and the first in the state’s northern region. Affiliated to the University of Calicut, it offers the Five-Year Integrated LL.B., Three-Year LL.B., and LL.M. programmes. The competition is organised by the College’s Moot Court Society and is held in memory of Adv. M. Ratna Singh, former Advocate General of Kerala.
ABOUT THE COMPETITION :
The Adv. M. Ratna Singh Memorial National Moot Court Competition 2026 is the 10th edition of this national-level moot, built around a constitutional law proposition covering electoral funding transparency, disqualification of candidates on framed criminal charges, voting rights of undertrial prisoners, and the Governor’s discretion in inviting a party to form government. The competition offers:
- A courtroom-style national moot experience with expert judges
- Cash prizes worth over ₹70,000
- Complimentary access to SCC Online for all participants
- Awards for Best Team, Best Speaker, Best Memorial, and Best Researcher
ELIGIBILITY :
Open to regular students enrolled in 3-Year or 5-Year LL.B. programmes recognised by the Bar Council of India. No limit on the number of teams from a single institution.

TEAM COMPOSITION :
Each team must consist of 2 or 3 members:
- Two Speakers and one Researcher, or
- One Speaker and one member serving as both Speaker and Researcher
- Only designated Speakers may present oral arguments
- Composition may be changed only after informing the Organizing Committee by email
REGISTRATION PROCESS :
- Pay the provisional registration fee of ₹1,500 per team by 16 July 2026.
- Submit soft copies of memorials to rsmnmcc26@gmail.com by 25 July 2026, 11:59 PM IST.
- If registrations exceed 20 teams, the top 20 teams (by memorial score) qualify for the Oral Rounds.
- Qualifying teams complete final registration by paying ₹5,000 (with accommodation) or ₹3,500 (without accommodation).
- Submit 4 hard copies each of the Petitioner and Respondent memorials on 14 August 2026.
