Law Centre-II, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, through its Moot Court Society, has announced the 10th S.K. Puri Memorial International Moot Court Competition – “JUSTIFIED 2026”, marking the tenth edition of the institution’s flagship memorial moot court competition.
The competition is scheduled to bring together teams from law schools across India and internationally for a rigorous exercise in legal research, memorial drafting and oral advocacy. The oral rounds are scheduled to be held from 20 to 22 November 2026 at Law Centre-II, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi.
About JUSTIFIED 2026:
The S.K. Puri Memorial International Moot Court Competition is an annual initiative of the Moot Court Society, Law Centre-II. The competition has developed over the years into a platform for students to engage with advanced legal research and advocacy while competing against teams from leading law schools.
The 2026 edition marks a significant milestone as the 10th edition of the competition, continuing the legacy established in memory of Late Shri S.K. Puri, a distinguished lawyer associated with the Delhi High Court Bar.
The Moot Court Society of Law Centre-II has consistently promoted mooting and advocacy through competitions, debates, workshops, seminars and other academic initiatives. The brochure describes the S.K. Puri Memorial Moot as an annual event that attracts participation from law schools across the country and beyond.
A Decade of Mooting Excellence
The 10th edition builds on a substantial history of the competition.
Over successive editions, the competition has witnessed participation from several prominent law schools and universities, with teams competing for recognition in memorial writing, advocacy and overall performance. The brochure records achievements involving institutions including Gujarat National Law University, National Law University Delhi, NLU Jodhpur, Symbiosis Law School, National Law University Odisha, National Law University Nagpur, MAIMS and other leading institutions.
The competition also continued through the COVID-19 period, with an online edition being conducted in 2022 before returning to an in-person format in subsequent editions.
About the Legacy of Shri S.K. Puri:
The competition commemorates Shri Surinder Kumar Puri, who was born in 1937 in Punjab and later established himself as a prominent member of the Delhi Bar.
Shri S.K. Puri was a first-generation lawyer who began his career with humble beginnings and eventually built a distinguished practice before the Delhi High Court. He also served in leadership positions within the Delhi High Court Bar Association, including as its President.
The memorial competition seeks to carry forward this legacy of legal professionalism, advocacy and commitment to the legal profession.
