ABOUT VIT

VIT was founded in the year 1984 by the visionary Dr. G Viswanathan. In a short span, VIT has witnessed a meteoric rise and set an ambitious growth target. Its towering presence in technical, management and legal education, infrastructure that meets global standards, digitalization and scholastic faculty in the academic realm manifests itself.

ABOUT VIT SCHOOL OF LAW

The VIT School of Law (VITSOL), the progeny of VIT University, is one of the best Law Colleges in Chennai. It entered the legal arena in 2014, aiming at high goals to be achieved.The Law School aims to impart quality legal education to equip the young minds with knowledge of law, teach them the nuances of the legal profession and make them aware of the nitty gritty of the profession.

To improve advocacy skills, the school runs Moot Court and Debate societies. Through these societies, various International / National level programs are conducted.The school regularly organises Moot Court Competitions, both in national and international law, National level debate competitions, International / National Conferences, Seminars and Workshops, and Legal Aid programme.

ABOUT MODEL UNITED NATIONS (MUN)

Model United Nations, often known as Model UN or MUN, is an educational simulation and academic activity in which students can study about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations.

MUN, or Model United Nations, is an extracurricular activity where students portray UN committees and delegates in role-playing scenarios.

Delegates who attend Model UN conferences are assigned to committees and designated with nations, or occasionally other organizations or political leaders, where they represent being members of that body.

Their assignments and the issue of topics that their respective committee will debate are given to them before hand. Before conferences, delegates gather information and develop view points that they will subsequently discuss with other delegates in the committee while adhering to the official position of the member they represent.

ABOUT VLS MUN 2026

Following the steady progression of the VLS MUN success since its inception in 2016, the Eighth edition of VLS MUN, VLS MUN 2026, is being presented.

It shall be a two-day Model United Nation conference held at the Chennai campus of VIT-University on 23rd and 24th of October, 2026.

VLS MUN is the flagship event of VIT School of Law. It is known among munners in the circuit for its adaptable cooperation of representatives from the entire nation and captivating agendas handpicked for extensive debates.

The previous edition of the MUN had noticed the facilitation of different and well-versed boards of trustees who have shown in their respective fields and have addressed issues that have been tackled on a worldwide scale.

The aim of VLS MUN is to promote a deep understanding of current issues and pave the way to diplomatic solutions to be discussed with a holistic approach, covering every possible aspect and tabled for the benefit of all the delegates.
