Introduction

I’m Ajra Fatimah from Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. I’m in second year, pursuing my LL.B.from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi. I applied for thirty days Internship with Law and Justice Research Foundation long back in May.After that, I received an email from LJRf for a test to get this internship and when I successfully qualified for it, I received a confirmation mail regarding my internship .Meanwhile I was invited to join the Whatsapp group for this internship. After joining the Whatsapp group, I came to know that this is a Kerala based organization that works for the Promotion of basic Constitutional Literacy, Establish and Administer Institutions for promotion of Legal Education along with Conduct of Social Audits to analyze the impact of Laws on Society.I was the only one outside Kerala to join this internship but I never felt alienated.Everyone was so nice and helpful that I feel connected to each person.

Internship details

The Internship duration was from 15 October to 15 November 2021.
Activities assigned to interns are:

  1. Online classes
  2. Article Writing
  3. JudgEment Review
  4. Review of LJRF Videos
  5. Poster making on awareness related to Constitutional literacy

The First day of the internship was an ice-breaking session where all the interns welcomed by Adv.Neelima V Nair the convenor of the Thirty days Internship Programme. In this session, the inaugural address was given by Sri. Kumaran C.V., Principal of Government Law College,Kozhikode. After the inaugural address, the team members introduced themselves and explained about LJRF and its different programs like Project Complete Lawyer, Arbitration,Probation, Centre for Senior Citizens, etc…
Through this session, I got an insight about LJRf and I was really happy that I got a chance to be interned here. The second session was on 18th October where former interns shared their experience namely,Anupam Aysha, Anu Anna Baby, Amina S.M., Arya V. Nair, and Sreelakshmi S. They all explained so well about LJRF and what should be our approach, which motivated me. Further in this session all interns introduced themselves. I too introduced myself to everyone.

The Third session on 20th October dealt with the Significance of Project Complete Lawyer. In this session, I was amazed to know about this project as it helps law students to tackle real-life situations which I believe will be helpful for every Law student, and even before completing our LLB it’ll be a reality check as in college they teach us only theory but with this project, we’ll be dealing with real cases. Through Intense training and study of institution law students could gain more practical knowledge about legal profession .There were total ten sessions on different topics like How to Review a Judgment, Society Expectation from a Lawyer, Social Media Dilemma, Probation as a Tool, etc.All these Sessions were enriching and informative. I got to know about different aspects as a Law student. Examples: How to review a Judgment ? I learnt as the name suggests how I should read cases , what point is to be highlighted in the review and many more things. The “Expectation of Society from law students”, this session helped me to understand that it’s essential to provide legal assistance to the society and its the fundamental duty of a law student to protect the society. Moreover,in each session, interns got an opportunity to compere the session, deliver the welcome speech and vote of thanks ,which really boosted the confidence of interns including me.

For Article Writing I did research, using different Websites. It was my second article writing and the freedom given by the LJRF team to the interns to pick topics and cases by themselves make it so easy and interesting as we were able to choose topics which we are confident to write and even explore new topics. In addition Adv. Neelima ma’am was always there to encourage and improve myself.Further, I had my first poster making experience with this team .Now I am confident to make many more posters. Even now I created one poster for my college.

Whereas LJRF videos review was helpful to point out the nuances of selected videos.
All interns were allotted different groups and one coordinator was there with 8 students. I was in Group V, my coordinator was Saneesh K.D. Sir has always encouraged and helped me out when there was any doubt regarding assignments and works. There used to be group meetings , where Adv. Neelima ma’am and Saneesh sir used to help us and we used to ask our doubts.
In addition to the above-mentioned activities, LJRF also gave many opportunities like DLSA AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV WEBINARS which were very insightful and informative, quiz competition organized by other institutions, poster competition, etc..

Feedback

I had an overwhelming opportunity to work as an intern at LJRF. It was an amazing
experience for me to connect with people from Kerala and be part of LJRF from being feeling alone to feeling comfortable with everyone. This transformation is the result of the LJRF team. LJRF is a platform to study and contribute to society in general and especially from a Legal perspective. It helped in personal development. As the name Law Justice Research Foundation, every word is helpful for all of us and plays an essential part in legal life. After completing my internship I have more confidence and learned so much. I was blessed to have such coordinators, Adv. Neelima ma’am, Safi Mohan sir, all were highly supportive, enlightened throughout the process.
Thank you LJRF Team, I’m blessed to be part of this internship. Looking forward to
receiving guidance from LJRF again and hopefully someday meeting you all!!!
